Our office for Azad Impex Pvt. Ltd. is situated at Survey No. 347 Paiki in the village of Nani Chirai. This is out in the Taluka Bhachau area of Kachchh. It’s a very different landscape out here, quite open and dry, and the wind can really pick up sometimes. We deal with the import and export side of things, which means a lot of checking on shipments and making sure things are moving through the ports properly. Even though we are a private limited company, we operate in a very simple way from this village location. The roads around Nani Chirai are often filled with trucks carrying goods to and from the bigger hubs. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at manifests, making sure all the boxes are ticked for the day. It’s a busy life but it’s a good one here in Kachchh. The sun can be quite harsh during the day, so we usually keep the office shutters down halfway to stay cool while we work. We aren't in a big glass building in a city; we are right here on the ground near the village. It’s important for us to stay connected to the local transport and the people who help move our goods. We've been at this survey number for a while now, and we’ve seen the area change a bit, but our work remains the same every day of the week.
