Our little business Sher Shah Auto Sales & Sarvice sits right in Village Lanji. Being out here in the Bhabua tehsil of Kaimur district means things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We handle sales of vehicles and also do repairs for the local people. The address is pretty straightforward as everyone knows the At Post Lanji area well enough. We opened this place because we saw how difficult it was for villagers to get their vehicles fixed without traveling for hours. Now we stay busy from morning till evening dealing with tires and engines. The workshop is usually covered in a bit of dust because of the local roads but that is just part of the job. We do not have a big team or any corporate managers looking over our shoulders. It is just a few of us who know our way around a toolkit. We talk to the farmers and the local workers who stop by for a quick check-up on their bikes. Often we spend the afternoon trying to figure out a tricky engine problem while sharing a cold drink. We do not have any big goals of becoming a huge chain. We just want to keep the shop running so the people in Lanji have a place to go.
