Our place is located near Sapna Dam in Sohagpur, which is actually a pretty nice area if you like being away from the main city noise. Michigan Rubber India Ltd. has been here for a good while, and we’ve gotten used to the quiet surroundings. Being near the dam means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which helps during the hot months. We work with rubber, so the smell is something you just get used to after the first week. It’s not for everyone, but we don’t mind it. Our team is mostly local folks from around Sohagpur. We walk or bike in, and the day starts pretty early. We don’t have a lot of fancy corporate rules. We just expect everyone to do their part and look out for each other. Sometimes the machines get temperamental, but we’ve learned all their quirks over the years. It’s a practical kind of job. We don’t write long reports or have many meetings. Usually, we just talk over the work while we’re doing it. The facility isn’t brand new, but it’s sturdy and it gets the job done. We’ve seen the water level in the dam go up and down through many seasons. Just like that, we keep our business moving regardless of what is happening outside. It’s a steady life here, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and focus on the rubber.
