Choure Sugar Mill

Over at Choure Sugar Mill, we have been working in Rajegaon Village for quite some time now. This place is in Amla Tehsil within the Betul District. It’s a rural area where everyone knows each other. The mill is where we spend all our hours during the season. When the cane starts coming in on the carts and trucks, the whole place gets really active. There is a lot of noise from the machinery, and you can smell the sweet juice being processed from quite a distance away. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that. We just have the mill floor and a small space for keeping the books. Our workers come from the nearby houses in Rajegaon. It is local labor, people who understand the work. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves with whatever tools we have. It’s not always smooth, but we manage to keep things running. The Betul District weather can be tough, especially when it’s hot, but the work has to happen regardless. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill around; we just want to do our part here in Amla Tehsil. We take the raw stuff and turn it into sugar, day after day. It is a lot of heavy lifting and watching the heat. That is what a day at Choure Sugar Mill looks like for us. We just keep the fires going and focus on the current batch.
