We are based in Jiaganj, and this is where we make all our snacks. Bittu Chanachur is something we’ve been doing for a long time now. It’s a local business through and through. We don't have a giant factory with robots. Instead, we have a small setup where we do a lot of the work by hand. Making chanachur is a bit of an art—you have to get the mix of spices and the crunch just right, or people will let you know. We spend our days around the fryers and the big mixing bowls. It gets quite hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy sales team. We just sell to the local shops and wholesalers who have been buying from us for years. People around here know our name and they know what to expect when they open a bag. Sometimes we try out a new spice mix, but usually, people want the classic taste they grew up with. Our office is just a small desk in the corner of the building where we keep track of the orders. It’s a simple, straightforward way of doing things. We’re not looking to become some massive global brand. We just want to keep making good snacks for the people who enjoy them. It’s hard work, but it’s satisfying when a batch comes out perfect.
