Zuari Cement Limited, Bangalore

Our little spot is located at 87, 4th Main in G.M. Palya. It is a pretty standard setup for a cement place in Bangalore. We spend most of the morning dealing with the trucks that come in and out of the narrow roads around here. It can get a bit tight when two big vehicles try to pass each other on the 4th Main, but we manage somehow. The office isn't much to look at, just some desks and a lot of paper stacks where we keep track of the inventory. We have been in this neighborhood for a bit now, so we know the local guys who are building houses nearby. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit of a mess, but that is just part of the job when you are moving heavy bags around. We don't have any fancy signs or anything like that. Just the name on the front and a lot of work to do. If you walk by, you’ll probably see us on the phone or checking the latest shipment that arrived from the factory. It gets noisy with all the traffic, especially in the afternoons. We try to keep things organized but cement is a messy business by nature. Most of the time we are just focused on getting the orders right and making sure the laborers know which pile to move next. We drink tea in the afternoons and wait for the final trucks to leave. It is just a regular day here.
