Zaoq Indian Restaurant

We are over at HSR Layout 74, right where the road curves a bit. Zaoq Indian Restaurant is basically just a few of us who like to cook. We didn't have a big plan when we opened, just a few recipes and enough money for the deposit on the building. The walls are a bit plain because we haven't gotten around to decorating much, but the kitchen works fine, and that’s what matters. Most of our customers are locals who live within walking distance. We see the same faces every Tuesday and Friday. It’s nice when someone remembers your name. We’ve had some tough times, like when the power goes out in the middle of a shift, but we usually just light some candles and keep going. We don’t use any of those fancy ordering apps much because we prefer it when people just call us or walk in. It’s less of a headache. The staff is mostly cousins and friends. We eat our own meals here before the dinner rush starts. It's not a corporate vibe at all. We argue sometimes about whose turn it is to mop, and we laugh a lot too. Being at HSR Layout 74 has been good for us. It’s a busy spot but it feels like a village sometimes. We’re just happy to have a place where we can do our work and see our friends every day.
