Our spot is right over by the Deepa Nursing Home in Marathahalli. If you know Bangalore traffic, you know it takes a while to get anywhere around here, so being centrally located like this helps a lot. We share the area with the clinic folks and it’s usually pretty busy with people coming and going. The office itself isn't much to look at, just a few desks and a lot of files stacked up in the corner. We spend most of our mornings talking to contractors and checking on how the supplies are moving. Marathahalli has changed so much since we first set up here. There’s always a new building going up or a road being dug up for pipes. We mostly handle the infrastructure side of things, dealing with the nuts and bolts of construction. It gets loud outside with all the horns and the buses, but we’re used to it. The staff here mostly takes turns going out to the sites because you can't see what's actually happening from behind a computer. We drink a lot of tea while we look over the blueprints. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and talk until the backup kicks in. It's a regular workplace with regular people. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We just focus on the job at hand and try to make sure everything is built right before we move to the next project. We've made some good friends with the shopkeepers downstairs over the years.
