Our unit is dedicated to transformers, so there is always a lot of copper wire and heavy casing lying around. The air in Peenya always has that industrial smell, a mix of oil and smoke. It’s a tough environment, especially in the heat of the summer when the metal roof gets hot. We’ve got a team of people who know their way around these machines. The floor is usually covered in some kind of industrial debris, but we try to sweep up at the end of the day. 26A is our home base. It’s a solid building, built for heavy work. We don't have any fancy signs or decorations, just the company name painted on the gate. Most of our day is spent around the assembly area or checking on the coils. It’s noisy work, but it’s what we do. We have some plastic chairs in the corner for when we take a break. The trucks come in and out through the narrow gates to drop off materials. It’s a gritty, honest way to work. We’ve been part of the Peenya landscape for a good while now.
