Our office is on the second floor of Century Bazzar in Ambavadi. It’s an older building, so it has that classic market feel to it. The stairs are a bit steep and there’s no lift, so we get our exercise for the day just by coming into work. Once you’re inside, the space is filled with the smell of old paper and the sound of the ceiling fans. We deal with chemical imports, so there are always data sheets and small containers around. The desks are a bit worn out at the edges, but they’re sturdy and hold our computers just fine. We’ve been in Ambavadi for quite a while, and we like being near the market because it’s easy to grab anything we need. The windows look out over the street, and it’s always interesting to see the shoppers down below. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer, but we manage with the fans. We aren't big on meetings or anything formal. We just talk across the room to each other when something needs to be done. It’s a practical way of working. Most of our clients just call us up, so we don’t get many walk-ins throughout the week. It’s just a small, dedicated group of us here, keeping the business moving as best as we can. We just focus on the task at hand and get through the paperwork every afternoon.
