Our office is way up on the 14th floor of the Canabara Block in UB City. It is right there on Vittal Mallya Road where everything feels very fast and busy. From the windows, you can see the whole city spread out, but we are usually too busy with paperwork and meetings to look out much. We deal with the motor business from this side, handling the parts of the job that don't involve getting oil on your hands. It’s a lot of phone calls and typing. The elevators take a while during lunch when everyone is trying to get downstairs at the same time. This building is quite modern compared to the older parts of town. We have a lot of desks lined up and the lights stay on pretty late some evenings. Getting into the parking garage in the morning is a bit of a struggle because of the traffic on the main road. We are just a team of people trying to keep things organized for the company. It feels very different from a factory floor, much quieter and cleaner. Most of us take the bus or ride our bikes to get here, then spend the day behind a screen. It’s a steady kind of work in a very tall building. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks that come our way each day. It’s a long way up but we have a good group here.
