Working out here in Bidadi at Toyata Kirloskar Auto Parts is quite different from being in the middle of the city. The space is massive and there is a lot of walking involved just to get from one section to another. Most of us spend our time on the line or handling the various components that go into the vehicles. It’s a lot of metal and plastic parts everywhere you look. The lighting is very bright and the floors are marked with yellow lines that everyone has to stay inside of. You can hear the sound of the air tools and the forklifts moving pallets around all day long. We have a routine that doesn't really change much from Monday to Saturday. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the common area where we all sit on the long benches and talk about whatever is happening at home. The commute to Bidadi can be a bit long depending on where you live, so the mornings feel very early for most of the crew. It’s a big operation and you really feel like a small part of a much larger machine when you see all the trucks lined up outside. We just focus on our specific tasks and try to keep up with the pace of the conveyor belts. It is a steady kind of life, even if the work itself is quite repetitive and the factory is always humming with noise.
