Toscano Restaurant

Toscano Restaurant is situated at Vittal Mallya Road 24. This area is usually quite busy with people walking around and cars looking for parking. We have a spot that feels a bit tucked away despite being on a main road. We’ve got some outdoor seating which is nice when the weather isn’t too hot, but we spend a lot of time cleaning the tables out there because of the city grime. Inside, the floors are dark and we try to keep the lights low. It’s just the way the building is set up. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment. Most of our work is done by hand in the kitchen. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get everything prepped for the day ahead. There’s a lot of chopping and washing involved before we even open. The staff is a mix of people who have been here for years and some newer faces. We don’t have a big corporate manual or anything like that. We just show the new guys how we do things and they pick it up as they go. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for number 24, so we have to go out to the street to wave them down. It’s a bit of a scramble during the dinner rush, with people coming in and out constantly. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tasks. It’s a good place to work, and we like the energy of Vittal Mallya Road. It's a lot of work, but it's what we do.
