The Twenty Hampers

The Twenty Hampers workshop is up on the second floor at 134 Amain Road. It’s right by Six Cross, near Nichela Lake in Bangalore. We spend most of our time putting together gift baskets and hampers for all sorts of occasions. The floor is usually covered in bits of ribbon, colored paper, and dry straw. It's a bit of a mess when we have a lot of orders to fill at once. We started this because we liked making things look decent and useful. It's not a big company with many departments. It’s just a few of us working at big wooden tables all day. We source different bits and pieces from local markets to put inside the boxes. Sometimes the delivery vans have a hard time finding the right turn near the lake because the roads are small. We try to be organized, but things get hectic during the holiday seasons or wedding months. The windows stay open to let the breeze in, though it brings in some dust from the street. We use whatever baskets we can get our hands on that look sturdy enough to hold the weight of the jars. It’s a lot of packing and unpacking throughout the week. We don’t have a website that’s very fancy or modern. People usually just hear about us through word of mouth or seeing our boxes at a party. We just keep our heads down and wrap things up as they come in. It’s a nice enough life.
