Being out here in Makali means we are a bit away from the main city buzz, which is actually quite nice. The air feels a little different here. We spend our days inside this big facility, and it’s a lot of walking back and forth between the different sections. It’s not like a small corner shop; there’s a lot of machinery and people in lab coats or uniforms moving around with purpose. We have a routine that starts quite early in the morning when the buses bring everyone in. The canteen is usually the place where you hear all the gossip about who’s doing what in which department. Even though it’s a large company name, for those of us working here on the ground, it’s just a daily job of making sure the bottles are filled and the labels are straight. We see a lot of trucks coming in to pick up crates that are headed all over the place. Sometimes you forget how big the operation is until you stand by the gate and watch the cargo move out. The grounds are kept fairly neat, and there’s always someone trimming the hedges or sweeping the paths. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there’s a sense of order to it that you get used to. We just show up, do our shift, and head back home through the Makali traffic at the end of the day.
