The Good Earth Company (UB City Mall)

Our shop is over at The Good Earth Company, located at Shop No. 18 on the second floor of the Canberra Block. It’s inside the UB City Mall on Vittal Mallya Road. Working in a place like UB City is a bit different from the usual street-side shops in Bangalore. It’s very clean and the air conditioning is always on, which is a relief when it’s hot outside. We spend our days tidying up the shelves and talking to the people who walk in to browse. The Canberra Block is a busy part of the mall, so there’s always someone passing by the window. Being at Bangalore - 560001 means we are right in the middle of the city’s fancy district. We keep the shop looking nice, but we aren't stuffy about it. We’re just regular people who enjoy being around nice things and talking to customers. Sometimes the mall gets really crowded on the weekends, and other times it’s quite peaceful. We have a routine for opening up and making sure everything is in its place. The mall life has its own rhythm, with the music playing in the background and the shoppers wandering around. It’s a good spot for us, and we’ve been here long enough to know most of the other staff in the nearby shops. It’s a steady kind of work, and we just take it one customer at a time. It keeps us occupied.
