Tally Opperatar

I’ve been working out of this spot at 13/3/95 in Banashankari for a while now. Tally Opperatar is basically me and a couple of others handling the day-to-day data and bookkeeping work that people usually find boring or too time-consuming. It’s a small space, and the shelves are mostly filled with old folders and spare stationery. I didn't want a place that looked like a bank or a high-end office. This feels more like a workshop for numbers than anything else. Most of the people who come by are local shop owners who just need someone to help them keep their books in order. I spend a lot of time typing and staring at the software on my screen. Sometimes I forget to take a lunch break because I’m trying to find where a few rupees went missing in a long list of transactions. The street outside can be quite loud, especially during the festivals, but inside we just keep our heads down and work. It’s a simple life for us. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a fancy receptionist at the front. If the door is open, it means we are here and busy with something. It’s not about being the most famous business in Banashankari. It’s just about doing a decent job so that people can get back to their own work. We like the routine of it all, even if the old fan makes a clicking noise every time it’s on the highest setting.
