We are located on the first floor of a building on Residency Road. T L Jain & Co has been in this spot for a long time. You have to climb up a narrow set of stairs to get to us. The stairs are a bit steep and the light in the hallway flickers sometimes. Once you get inside it’s just a regular office with a few cabins made of plywood. The view from the window is just the tops of buses and cars moving along Residency Road. It gets very dusty because of the main road so we have to wipe the tables every single morning. We have an old clock on the wall that chimed every hour until it broke last summer. Now it just sits there. Our team is small and we’ve all known each other for years so there isn't much formality. We sit around the main desk and go through files one by one. If someone comes in we offer them a chair and maybe some water from the earthen pot we keep in the corner. It stays cooler than the fridge for some reason. We don't have any fancy signs or bright lights. It's just a place where we come to work and do the accounts or whatever else is on the schedule for the day. By evening the street gets really crowded so we try to head out before the rush starts. It is not much but it works for us and our visitors.
