T C Mehta & Company has been part of Kumbarpet for a long while. If you know the area, you know how crowded and lively it can get. Our space is right in the middle of all that energy. We deal with various business matters every day, mostly helping local traders and individuals who need things sorted out. It’s not a quiet place, but that’s just the nature of Kumbarpet. We have old desks and some chairs that have seen better days, but they do the job. My father used to say that as long as the work is right, the furniture doesn't matter much. We spend most of our hours looking over documents and talking to people who drop by. There is always someone coming in with a question or a stack of papers. We don't really do big advertisements; word of mouth keeps us going mostly. Lunch breaks are usually quick because there is always something to finish. Sometimes we get distracted by the noise from the street vendors, but you get used to it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it yet. It’s a busy life here, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way. The files are organized by year, mostly.
