Swamy Nursery & Florist

Swamy Nursery & Florist is out in Attibele, right near the TVS Motor Company in Hosur. It’s a green spot in a busy area. We spend most of our time watering the plants and making sure the saplings are doing okay in the sun. It’s a lot of dirt under the fingernails. We have rows of pots and bags of soil stacked up near the entrance. Some days it’s quiet and we just trim the hedges or move the orchids to the shade. Other days, people stop by on their way home to grab a few flowering plants or some seeds for their garden. We don't have fancy labels for everything, we just know what’s what. The air smells like wet earth and jasmine mostly. It’s a nice place to work, even if it gets really hot in the middle of the day. We aren't a big corporate shop. It’s just us and the plants. If a plant isn't doing well, we try to fix it, or we just tell the customer it’s not ready yet. We like being near the TVS factory because everyone knows the landmark. We’ve been here for years, watching the trees grow taller while we work. It’s simple, honest work with the soil. We just keep planting and selling until the gates close. No one here wears a suit, we just wear what we don't mind getting dirty.
