Supriyo Diesel Spares

If you walk down Prince Street, you’ll find us at P-41. We are in Room-114, which is one of those places that stays quite cool even when it’s hot outside because of how the building is built. The name on the door says Supriyo Diesel Spares. It’s mostly full of heavy metal parts and gears for diesel engines. There is a specific smell here, like oil and cold iron, which you get used to after a few days. We keep most of the inventory on heavy-duty racks that go all the way up to the ceiling. Finding a specific spare part sometimes means climbing a ladder or moving three other boxes out of the way. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when a shipment arrives. The room isn't very big, so we have to be very careful about where we put things. Usually, there’s a bit of paper clutter on the main desk from all the invoices and lists we have to manage. Prince Street is a narrow place and there's always someone shouting or a cart being pushed past the door. We don't have any fancy displays or showroom lighting. The parts are what they are, and we know exactly where every bolt and gasket is kept. It’s a quiet life inside the room while the street outside stays noisy. Most people who come in are mechanics or drivers who need something fixed quickly. We’ve been at Prince Street for years now and it’s become home.
