Sundar Raj Tyre Centre

Sundar Raj Tyre Centre is over in Rajaji Nagar at 1005/1. We are right in MANSUKHBHAI S Pole, across from the Eshwari Complex. If you come by, you will probably see stacks of tyres piled up outside and in the corners of the shop. The smell of rubber is pretty strong here, but we do not even notice it anymore after all these years. We spend the day changing tyres, fixing punctures, and talking to drivers who are usually in a hurry. Our hands are usually covered in black dust and grease by noon. It is a physical job and it gets tiring when the weather is hot and humid. The shop is right on the street, so it is easy for people to pull over. We have a few basic tools and a machine for the heavy lifting. There is always some banter going on between us while we work to keep the mood light. We know the shop owners at the Eshwari Complex quite well and often go over there for tea or a quick chat. It is not a glamorous place, just a regular tyre shop where we do what needs to be done. We have seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we are still here in the same spot, doing the same daily routine. It is a living and we are glad to be part of the community in Rajaji Nagar. We just keep our heads down and work.
