Sri Lakshmi Textiles

You can find Sri Lakshmi Textiles over at 11/1 1st Main Road in Dayanandanagar. It’s part of the Srirampuram area, right near Ramnagar and Rander Road. It’s a place that stays very busy with people moving back and forth all day. We deal with textiles, so our shop is basically full of fabric from the floor to the ceiling. It smells like fresh cotton and dye most of the time. We have a couple of old tables where we unroll the cloth to show it to whoever comes in. The lighting isn't the best, so we often take pieces out to the doorway to see the true color in the sunlight. Srirampuram is a crowded part of town, and parking is always a headache near our spot. We usually just walk or take a rickshaw. Inside, we have a small stool for the person behind the counter and not much else. We keep the books by hand in big ledgers that are starting to show their age. We’ve been in this location for quite a while, so we’ve seen the shops around us change names many times. Our sign is a bit faded from the sun, but people still find us well enough. We start early to sweep the front step before the dust from Rander Road gets too thick. It’s just a regular fabric business doing what we do every single day.
