Down at 65/77 Basavanagudi, you’ll see our sign for Sri Vinayaka Tyres & Lubricants. It’s a practical kind of place. We have stacks of tires piled up and drums of oil sitting near the back wall. It’s not the cleanest shop, but that’s because we are always working on something. If your car or scooter needs a change, we usually have what you need right there. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive signs. We’d rather just have the right tools to get the job done properly. Basavanagudi is a nice area with a lot of old trees and regular families. We’ve been serving this community for a long time. People trust us because we don't try to sell them things they don't actually need. Sometimes we get really busy on weekends when everyone decides to fix their vehicles at the same time. On those days, there’s barely room to move around the shop floor. My helper and I have a rhythm down now after working together for five years. We talk about the local news or the weather while we work on the tires. It’s a straightforward business. We buy the tires, we stock the lubricants, and we help the people who come through the door. There’s no corporate talk here, just honest work with our hands. We close up when the sun goes down, usually feeling tired but glad to have finished the day's tasks. It's just a regular shop in a regular neighborhood.
