Sri Skandha Borewells

Our place, Sri Skandha Borewells, is right on the 80 Feet Road in Padmanabhanagar, at house number 1. It is a pretty busy spot, and you can usually see our equipment parked nearby or pipes stacked up. We spend our days dealing with heavy pipes, drill bits, and loud machinery. Most of the people who come to us are looking for a water source for their homes or new apartment buildings. Drilling a borewell is a lot of work and it gets quite noisy, which we try to warn the neighbors about before we start. We have been in this area for a good while, so we know the soil types and rock layers around here fairly well. Sometimes the drilling is easy, and other times we are struggling with huge boulders for hours on end. The office is not much to look at—mostly just a place to keep the tools dry and talk to customers about depths and casing pipes. We do not do big advertisements; we just rely on being around when someone needs a well dug. It is a tough business and things can go wrong with the machines at the worst times. We just try to fix things and keep moving to the next site. Most of our guys have been doing this since they were young. We are just local people helping other locals get their water sorted out.
