Sri Narasimha Petroleum Corporation is located at 1, Jain Naicken Street in Alandur. It’s right there on the corner, and it stays pretty busy most of the day and night. Being in the petroleum business means we are always on our feet. There’s the smell of fuel in the air, which we’ve all gotten used to by now. Alandur is a crowded area, so there is always a line of bikes or cars waiting. We have a small team of guys who handle the pumps. They’ve been with us for a while and know most of the regular drivers by sight. The office is just a tiny room at the back where we keep the logs and the cash box. It’s not the most glamorous job, standing out in the heat or the rain, but it’s what we do. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just make sure the tanks are full and the meters are working correctly. Sometimes the traffic on Jain Naicken Street gets backed up, and it can be a bit of a headache, but we just keep things moving as best as we can. We’ve been at this spot for years and it’s become a bit of a landmark for locals.
