Sri Manjunath Times

Our shop is over in the Peenya 2nd Stage, inside the Manjunath Complex. Being on Rajagopal Nagar Main Road means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and buses going past. Peenya is mostly industrial, so you wouldn't necessarily expect to find a watch place like ours right here, but we’ve been at No.117/2 for quite some time. The complex itself is always busy with people coming and going from the different units. Inside our space, it’s a bit quieter. We have our benches set up where the light is best. Most of the work involves fixing mechanical watches or replacing batteries and glass. It’s the kind of job where you don’t move around much, so we make sure to get up and walk around the complex every now and then to stretch. The air is often a bit dusty because of all the construction and factories nearby, so we have to keep the watch cases closed tight. We know most of the people who work in the nearby industries. They drop off their watches in the morning and pick them up on their way home. It’s a steady routine for us. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a big marketing team. It’s just a couple of us working with our hands. We keep the kettle going for coffee and just try to get through the stack of repairs on the desk before the day ends.
