About Sri Hanuman Glass – Building & Construction Material in Bengaluru
Working with glass means you have to be careful every single minute of the day. Sri Hanuman Glass is located in Devanachikkanhalli, spread across units 8, 9, and 10. It sounds like a big space, but once you put the large sheets of glass in there, it gets cramped pretty fast. We have to be very mindful of how we move around. I’ve had my share of small cuts over the years, but that’s just part of the trade. The floor is concrete and we try to keep it as clean as possible so no one slips on a stray shard. Most of the guys here have been working with glass for a long time, so they know the rhythm. We don't do much fancy advertising; people just know we are here because of the stacks of glass leaning against the walls. The neighborhood used to be very quiet, but now there are houses going up everywhere. Sometimes people stop by just to watch us cut the sheets. It’s a slow process if you want to do it right. We don't rush things because mistakes with glass are expensive and dangerous. Usually, we take a long break in the afternoon when the sun hits the front of the shop too hard. Then we work until late evening when it’s cooler. It’s a decent way to make a living and we are happy staying here.
