Speed Elevators Pvt Ltd is located in Nagarbhavi, specifically in the Lagad Wasti area at number 41. It is a bit out of the way, which is fine for the kind of work we do. We have a small workshop there where we keep our tools and some of the bigger lift parts. Most of the time, the shutters are halfway down because we are out on various sites. Elevator work is not as fast as the name suggests; it takes a lot of careful checking and testing. We are a small team, mostly guys who have grown up in this part of the city. We spend our days in overalls, usually covered in grease or dust from construction sites. Nagarbhavi has grown a lot, so there are always new buildings that need their lifts checked. We don't have a receptionist or a big office with air conditioning. We just have a desk with some old manuals and a phone that rings whenever something goes wrong somewhere. We take our toolboxes and head out in our small van. It is hard work, especially when you have to climb the stairs because the elevator is broken. We just do our jobs and go home.
