Sp Fab

Down in Vijinapur, you’ll find our little fabrication shop. We go by Sp Fab. It’s a lot of metalwork and sparks flying most days. Bangalore is a big city, but our corner of it feels like a real neighborhood. We spend our time cutting, welding, and putting things together. It’s noisy and there’s always a smell of burnt metal in the air, but we like it. Amaresh is usually around the shop making sure things are moving. We don't have a big corporate office or a fancy website to show off. Most of our work comes from people who just know we do a decent job. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend half the day fixing it, which is frustrating, but it happens. We work with our hands and we are proud of that. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the shift. We aren’t trying to change the world; we are just trying to make good parts and keep the customers happy. It’s basic work, but it requires a lot of focus so you don't lose a finger or mess up a cut. We take our tea breaks seriously and then get right back to the grinders and the saws. That’s the life of a fabricator in this city, just working until the sun goes down and then heading home to rest up for another day of it.
