This is the Southern Regional Station of ICAR-NDRI. Our specific location is at the ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, which is out in Chengicherla near the Boduppal Post. It is a bit of a trek from the main city center, but it is a very quiet and spacious area which is good for the kind of research work we do. The campus is spread out with various buildings dedicated to different parts of dairy and meat science. You will see a lot of people in lab coats or field gear walking between the sections. We have offices where we manage the data and files, and then there are the actual research areas. It is a government institute, so things move at a steady, methodical pace. The surroundings are quite green compared to the rest of the city, and you can often hear birds or the sounds of the facility rather than traffic. Most of us have been working here for years and we know every corner of the Boduppal area. It is not a place for quick visits; it is more of a dedicated site for long-term studies and scientific observation. We have a small canteen where everyone meets for tea and talk about the day’s findings. It is a very focused environment where the work is about the science and the local agricultural impact, kept simple and professional in its own quiet way. We just keep to our research schedules.
