Southern Heritage

Our office is on the first floor over in Sector 7 of HSR Layout. If you know the area, you know 9th Main gets a good amount of foot traffic. Southern Heritage has been in this building, number 999, for a bit now. It’s a decent space, though the stairs can be a bit of a workout if you’re carrying heavy files or samples. Inside, it’s mostly just desks pushed together and a lot of cabinets filled with old records and project folders. We don't really do the whole minimalist office thing. There are stacks of paper everywhere. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat, which slows us down, but that’s just how it is in this part of Bangalore. We usually have the windows open to let some air in, even if it means a bit of dust gets on the desks. Lunchtime usually involves someone going out to grab food for everyone from the stalls nearby. We spend our hours going over details and making sure the numbers add up. It’s not always exciting work, but it fills the day. The layout of the office is a bit strange, with a narrow hallway that everyone always bumps into each other in. We’ve thought about moving things around, but we never quite get to it. We’re just used to the way it is now. It feels like a real place where work actually happens every day.
