Southern Forklifters Pvt Ltd is based at 519 Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, up on the first floor. It is a straightforward kind of place where we deal with heavy machinery stuff. The stairs are a bit narrow to get up to the office, so you have to be careful. Downstairs there is usually some noise from the street. We handle forklifts and parts, so there is always talk about engines and lifting capacities going on around here. The office doesn't have much decoration, just some calendars and photos of machines we have worked on or sold. It is a practical space for practical work. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to find parts or talking to people who have machines that broke down in the middle of a job. Bhuvaneshwari Nagar is a busy area, but our street is a little quieter than the main road. We have a couple of desks and some old chairs for when people come to visit. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open for the breeze. You can see the street from the first floor balcony. We don't use a lot of fancy computers, just what we need to keep track of the inventory. Sometimes the floor is a bit greasy because of the parts we bring in and out for inspection. It is just a few of us working here every day. We know our way around the machines and we just stay busy with work.
