Siva Granites

Siva Granites is situated at 97/2 Banneraghatta Road in Sector 43 B. It is a big, open space because granite takes up a lot of room and it is very heavy to move around. The yard is full of different slabs leaning against each other. It is usually quite dusty because of all the stone being handled, so we all wear old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. There is a small shack where we keep the records and where people can come to talk to us. It is not air-conditioned, so it gets pretty warm in the summer months. We have a few heavy machines for lifting and cutting, and they make a lot of noise when they are running. You have to be careful where you walk so you don't trip over a piece of stone or some scrap. We don't have any polished showrooms with bright lights. What you see is just the raw material and us working with it. People come here when they want to see the stone for themselves and pick out what they need for their projects. We spend most of our time outside in the yard rather than sitting behind a desk. It is hard work and it is tough on the hands, but it is what we do. By the time we close up for the night, the sun is usually going down and the traffic on Banneraghatta Road is starting to thin out.
