Site Supervisor

Being located near the Blackpalli Police Quarters in Shivajinagar means we are right in the middle of everything. I work with K V Ravi over at 11th Block, D No 103. Bangalore is always growing, and this area is especially crowded. My job as a site supervisor is to manage the chaos. I spend a lot of time on my feet, walking around the site and making sure the laborers are following the safety rules and the architectural drawings. The streets here are narrow, so getting material trucks to the site is always a huge headache. I have to stand out there and direct traffic just to get a load of bricks through. It is a lot of manual record-keeping in a ledger that has seen better days. I check the concrete slabs and make sure the curing is done properly with enough water. It gets very noisy with all the drilling and the traffic outside, so I usually have to shout to be heard. I do not have a fancy website or anything like that, just this small office in the quarters. People around here know me because I am always at the site. It is hard work and my back usually aches by the end of the day, but I like seeing a project go from a hole in the ground to a finished structure. It is just about doing the work correctly day by day.
