Shree Tyres

Being located on Lalbagh Road near Subbaiah Circle means we are right in the middle of all the noise and traffic. Shree Tyres is easy to spot because of the stacks of black rubber sitting outside. The air always smells like new tyres and old grease. We spend our days mostly on our feet, rolling wheels in and out. It is a busy spot. Drivers are always in a hurry when they pull into Mayur Colony to see us. We have a small area where people can sit while they wait, but most people just stand around and watch the work. It is not a clean job. Our hands are usually black from the rubber by ten in the morning. We have seen all kinds of vehicles come through here, from small scooters to big cars. Sometimes the rain makes the shop floor a bit slippery, so we have to be careful. We do not have any flashy signs or anything. Just the tyres and the tools we use every day. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so we do not need to talk much to get the job done. We just know what needs to be done when a car pulls up. When it gets dark, we roll the tyres back inside and lock up the gate. It is a long day but it is what we do. We like being near the circle where all the action is.
