Shapoorji Pallonji&Co.Ltd

Up on the 7th floor of Surya Chambers, our Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd office overlooks the busy Airport Road in Bangalore. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. The traffic noise from Murugeshpalya down below is constant, but we’ve mostly stopped noticing it. Unlike the tech offices nearby, we don't have bean bags or free snacks. Our desks are covered in rolls of technical drawings and yellowing sticky notes. The air conditioning works okay, but we still like to open the windows when it rains to smell the wet earth. Most of the staff here have long commutes, so the morning starts with everyone complaining about the traffic. We are a busy bunch. There is always someone running to a meeting or arguing on the phone about a delivery. We eat our lunch in the small pantry area, usually sharing whatever people brought from home. It’s a bit crowded, but it works. We don’t have a fancy reception area with a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up to see who walked in. It is a very practical, hardworking environment. We are focused on the projects and don’t care much for corporate polish. It’s just a regular office full of regular people trying to finish the day's work before the commute starts again.
