Our office for Shapoorji Pallonji &Co Ltd is located in Sarakuppam Village, which is part of the Chettikuppam Post in Gudiyatham Taluk, Vellore District. Being out here in rural Tamil Nadu means things move at a slightly different pace than they do in the big cities. The air is a bit different, and we are surrounded by more greenery than concrete. Our building is a simple structure that serves as our home base for the work we do in this region. The heat in Vellore can be quite intense, especially in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the day. We don't have a lot of the modern office amenities you might find in Chennai, but we have what we need to get by. Most of the people working here are locals who know the area inside and out. We talk to the farmers and the villagers every day, and that’s just part of our routine. Sometimes the cows wander onto the road and slow things down, but nobody really minds. It’s a quiet life in Sarakuppam, but we stay busy with the projects we manage from this little spot. There are no fancy boardrooms here, just a few wooden tables and chairs and a lot of commitment to the work. We just show up every morning and do our bit to keep things moving forward in this corner of the district.
