Shakuntala Agarbathi Company

We are located at No. 123 on 1st Main, 7th Cross. It’s a small street, and if you walk by, you’ll probably smell the incense before you see our sign. Shakuntala Agarbathi Company has been around for quite some time now. We aren't a massive factory; we are more of a local operation that sticks to the basics. The building is filled with the scent of sandalwood, jasmine, and various oils. It gets into your clothes after a while, but we don't mind. We spend the day mixing the dough, rolling the sticks, or packing them into bundles. It’s a lot of hand work. We have a few people who have been with us for years, and they can roll these things faster than you can watch. The 7th Cross is usually quiet, which is nice for working. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just make the agarbathis and sell them to the shops nearby or to people who stop by the door. Sometimes we sit out on the steps for a break when the sun isn't too hot. It’s a humble business. We focus on the quality of the fragrance and making sure the sticks burn for a good amount of time. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. Most of our neighbors know us by the scent that drifts out from our doorway.
