Shakti Treads

Shakti Treads is located over in the Peenya industrial area at B292. It is a big dusty place with a lot of trucks and factories everywhere you look. We mostly work with rubber and tire retreading, so the shop is always quite hot from the molds and the steam. It smells like burnt rubber all the time, which some people find hard to deal with, but for us, it just means we are working. We have these big heavy machines that take a lot of effort to operate. I usually come in early to get the heaters started so they are ready by the time the other guys show up. We are not a big corporation with people in suits. We are just a bunch of guys in overalls trying to do a good job. The floor is always a bit slippery and there are scraps of rubber all over the place. We have a small office in the front where we keep the books, but I spend most of my time out on the floor. Peenya is a tough place to work because of the heat and the noise, but we have been here long enough to get used to it. We don't have a fancy logo or anything like that. We just do the work that needs doing and hope the machines don't break down. It is a hard way to earn money but it’s what we know.
