Shakthi Tyres

Shakthi Tyres is a straightforward shop located at 48 Journalist Colony on Arumugam Mudaliar Road. We don't have a fancy waiting lounge or coffee machines. What we have are stacks of tyres and the tools to change them. The air is always thick with the smell of rubber, which is something you get used to after a week of working here. It’s a busy street, so there’s always someone stopping by with a puncture or needing a new set of wheels. We work on the sidewalk mostly, getting our hands dirty and making sure the nuts are tight. It’s physical work and it can be tiring in the heat, but it’s what we do. We don't use big words to explain things; we just show you the tread and tell you if it’s time for a change. Most of the people who come here are regulars from the colony or drivers who pass through this road every day. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time. It’s not a polished business, just a local tyre shop where we try to get you back on the road quickly. Sometimes we have a backlog of cars, and everyone has to wait their turn. We don't mind the noise and the grease. It’s just part of the daily routine here at Arumugam Mudaliar Road. We keep working until the street lights come on.
