Shakthi Synthetics

We run Shakthi Synthetics out of Shed No. 58 in Kamakshipalya. Our location is right near the government primary school, so we often hear the kids playing and shouting during their recess time. Our work here involves synthetic fibers and different types of textiles. The shed is just a large, open space that is mostly filled with machines and big rolls of fabric. It can get very loud when all the looms are running at the same time. We spend most of our working hours watching the threads and making sure the fabric is coming out without any flaws. It involves a lot of standing and walking around the concrete floor. We aren't a high-tech plant with robots. It’s mostly just old-fashioned hard work and making sure the machines are kept clean and oiled. There is a small corner with a wooden table where we keep our production logs and have our tea breaks. The lighting isn't always great, but we’ve worked here long enough to know the layout by heart. We deal with wholesalers and other textile businesses that need materials in bulk. We don't have a sales team or any marketing stuff. Usually, the work just comes to us through the people we’ve known for years. It’s a bit of a dusty environment, but that’s just how it is with textiles. We focus on the daily targets and try to avoid any major machine breakdowns.
