Our shop is at 133, Narayan Dhuru Street, on the ground floor. This area is right in the heart of the old market, so it’s always incredibly crowded and noisy. If you are coming by vehicle, parking is basically impossible, so most people just walk from the nearest station. We have been here for a very long time, and the shop shows its age. The wooden counters are worn down from years of use. We keep most of our stock stacked high on the shelves that reach all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we have more than two or three customers inside at once. Most of the day is spent talking to people who come in looking for specific items. We know most of our regular customers by name. There’s a tea vendor who comes by every morning and afternoon, and we usually take a moment then to catch our breath. We don't have any computers on the main counter; we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way with ledgers and pens. It’s just how we’ve always done it. The street outside is a constant stream of handcarts and delivery boys. It’s a bit chaotic, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we’ve grown used to over the decades. We aren't looking to change much about how we operate.
