Sha Lal Madhan Lal & Co

We’ve been situated at 70 Vasavi Temple Street for a long time now. Our office is inside the Export House building, which is a well-known landmark in this part of Bangalore City. It’s a very traditional area, and having the temple so close by means we hear the bells ringing at certain times of the day, which is actually quite nice. Sha Lal Madhan Lal & Co has a lot of history tied to these streets. The building itself has that old-fashioned charm, with high ceilings and heavy doors that have seen better days. We don’t really bother with modern decorations or anything like that because we prefer the way things have always been. There’s a sense of rhythm to the work here that hasn’t changed much over the years. We spend a lot of time on the phone or going through ledgers, and there’s always a stack of mail waiting to be sorted on the front desk. The street outside is usually full of scooters and delivery vans, so it gets pretty hectic, but inside the Export House, it feels a bit more solid and grounded. We aren't big on flashy advertisements or trying to look bigger than we are. We just open up every morning, do what needs to be done, and close up when the street lights start to flicker on.
