Our office is located at 1474 in the BEML Layout, which is part of the 1st Phase, 5th Stage of Rajarajeshwari Nagar. It’s a bit of a long address, but it’s a good area to be in. We’re tucked away on the 2nd Cross. The space here is divided between the architecture side of things and the systems work we do. It means there’s always a mix of people coming and going. The desks are usually covered in a combination of floor plans and technical manuals. We aren’t a very formal group; we mostly wear comfortable clothes and drink a lot of coffee while we work through problems. A lot of our time is spent on the computer, but we still use the big physical maps and drawings when we’re trying to visualize a site. Rajarajeshwari Nagar has been growing a lot, so there’s always something new being built nearby. We often head out to check on projects in the neighborhood, so the office can be a bit empty in the middle of the afternoon. When we are here, it’s mostly about getting the technical details right and making sure everything is up to code. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t have fancy lobby furniture or anything like that. We just have our workstations and the tools we need to get the designs finished and the systems running properly. It’s a lot of work but we stay at it.
