Sathyam Graphics

Sathyam Graphics is based out of Lingarajapuram. We’ve been here for a good long while now. The shop is tucked away and isn't very large, but it fits all our printing gear and computers. There is always the smell of ink and the sound of machines running in the background. We spend a lot of our time sitting at the screens or checking the paper feed to make sure things aren't getting stuck. It’s not a fancy design studio with big windows. It’s more of a practical workspace where things get printed and cut. We deal with all sorts of people, from students needing a few pages to local businesses wanting posters. Sometimes the printers jam up right when we are in a hurry, which is always frustrating. We try to keep things tidy but there are usually paper scraps and offcuts everywhere. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure the colors look right on the final product. We don’t have any big slogans or goals. We just take the files people bring in and get them on paper. The neighborhood of Lingarajapuram is quite lively and we have some good food stalls nearby for lunch. It’s a steady pace of work. We enjoy what we do even when the machines are being difficult. It’s just an honest printing shop and we’ve become part of the local scene here.
