Sangeeta Chemicals

Sangeeta Chemicals is based at Shed No.112 in Chikhloli, right in the M.I.D.C area. Working in an industrial zone like this is different from being in the city. There’s always a hum of machinery from the neighboring sheds. We have drums and containers stacked up everywhere. It smells like chemicals here, which is no surprise given the name. We spend our days measuring things out and making sure the containers are sealed tight. It’s a lot of focus on the details. Shed No.112 is a sturdy metal building. It gets hot inside during the summer months. We keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze we can. Chikhloli is full of businesses like ours. We see the same faces every day at the tea stall around the corner. We handle our orders as they come in. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. There’s a lot of loading and unloading from the trucks that pull up to the loading bay. We keep a logbook of everything that enters and exits. Sangeeta Chemicals isn't a huge operation. It’s just us working in the MIDC, trying to keep up with the schedule. The floor is concrete and a bit stained from years of work. When the whistle blows at the end of the day, we lock up the shed and head out.
