The lab gets pretty quiet when everyone is focused on their screens here at 5/11 Main Link Road. We spend most of our time in Madiwala dealing with circuit designs and chips. It's a busy part of Bangalore, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows, but inside we just try to get the work done. Students come in early to grab the good workstations. Sometimes the power flickers and everyone sighs at once. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, and the tea stall nearby is where most of us end up during breaks. Designing VLSI stuff takes a lot of patience. You can't really rush these things or the whole simulation fails. We have computers lined up along the walls and some older books on the shelves that nobody touches much anymore because everything is digital now. It is just a plain office space really, nothing fancy about the interiors. The chairs are okay but could be better for long hours. Most of the people here are trying to figure out their careers in electronics. We talk about timing diagrams and gates all day long. If you walk past the building on the main link road, you might not even notice us unless you are looking for the sign. It’s just how things are in this neighborhood, one building after another filled with people working on different tech.
