Sail Training Centre

The Sail Training Centre is located in Basavanagudi on 4th Model House Street. It’s an older part of Bangalore, so the area has a very specific, calm feel compared to the rest of the city. Our building is number 33/1. We focus on teaching practical skills to people who want to improve their chances of finding work or just want to learn something new. The classrooms are simple. We don't have a lot of high-tech gadgets, just the essentials needed for the training. Students come from all over, but many are from the local neighborhood. They arrive in the morning, and we spend the day going through various modules. Basavanagudi is known for its parks and temples, and we’re right in the middle of that heritage. It’s a pleasant place to walk around during lunch breaks. Inside the centre, it’s usually quiet because everyone is focused on their tasks. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed so nobody feels too much pressure. Training can be tough if you’ve been out of school for a long time, so we just take it slow. I’ve seen all kinds of people pass through these doors. Some are very young, and some are looking for a second career. We just provide the space and the materials. It’s a small, steady operation that has become a familiar part of this street over the years. We just keep doing our thing every day.
