We’ve got a small team here that spends most of the day thinking about how to make energy cleaner. It’s a lot of engineering work and looking at site data. When you walk into our space, you’ll likely see a bunch of monitors showing performance charts or technical layouts. We deal with the nuts and bolts of clean technology. It’s not always glamorous work. Sometimes it involves being up on a roof in the middle of the afternoon or squinting at a circuit board that won't cooperate. We work with a variety of clients who want to change how they get their power. The guys in the back are usually busy with technical support or figuring out a new way to optimize an installation. We try to keep things straightforward. If something isn't working right, we fix it. There is a lot of trial and error in this business, but we’ve learned a lot over the years. We don't have a big corporate lobby with fancy chairs. We have a workshop and some desks. It’s a practical environment for people who actually like building things. We keep plenty of tools around and there’s usually some spare parts sitting on the corner of someone’s desk. It’s just a regular group of people working on technology that helps the planet a little bit. That’s what our days look like most of the time we are here.
